I’m originally from the UK, now living in the beautiful Ozarks in Missouri, where my focus in on User and Customer Experience. My exposure to Project Management began in 2001, using Agile (Back then we called it Evolutionary Prototyping) to build software systems for a Space Agency. I have applied my knowledge not only across industries, but also outside of the software world – producing feature films. The skills are amazingly transferable. The most recent film I made – “Treehouse” – was shot whilst working a full time job. Project Management is all about the art of balance, and that was certainly quite the balancing act!

My Name is Phil Schuyler, I am 33 years old, and I work as a Sr. Controls Engineer in the Augusta, Ga area at Starbucks Coffee Company (Manufacturing). Most of my job consists of developing software applications related to my industry and manufacturing business intelligence. I have recently began managing capital projects with my organization as well as my previous employer so I only had about four years of experience managing capital projects prior to sitting for the PMP® exam. I knew that the PMP® credential would allow me to be more competitive within my organization so I went for it! A quick online search revealed that the PM PrepCast seemed to be the most cost effective approach to a successful test and I happen to learn better with some type of video delivery whereas traditional classroom coursework didn’t fit within my schedule.
I am currently broadening my business acumen as a Business Development Principal with Jacobs, primarily working in the public and defense sectors. I have over 15 years of management and IT consulting experience working with Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte Consulting, and now Jacobs. Recently, I was the deputy program manager for a multi-million dollar software development project for a government customer. It was in this role that I pursued my MBA in Project Management and began the quest for PMP certification. I never saw myself becoming a PM, but as my responsibilities grew, I became acutely aware of the need for solid project management across the various projects I supported. This led me to pursue the PMP beginning last summer (July 2015), and achieving the certification in December 2015.

My first recommendation was always that they purchase the PM PrepCast through OSP International, LLC., which also comes with the PM Exam Simulator (a 90-day subscription). Not only are the podcasts with Cornelius Fichtner amazingly helpful and engaging, but the price for the entire purchase is so economical!
