Student Profile: Alberto Hervello, PMP
I’m a passionate development & project management professional committed to get the most of every operation. I take pride on delivering quality at a fair cost & time.
Having strong and trustful teams along with consistent policies & procedures are the most important assets a company could have and building those are my priority. To lead by example and persuasion helped me to achieve sounded results in challenging and pressurized environments. Adaptability, fairness and strong ethics allowed me to accept changes and manage conflict, as part of any real life project.
I am a B.E. in I.T. with a total of 4.6 years of experience out of which 3.6 years as a Project Coordinator, Project Analyst and Project Manager and currently I am working as a Project Manager with KeySight Technologies and hoping to enhance my project management skills with the understanding gained through PMP.
In addition to the PMP, I'm also a CPA, CIA, and CFE. I began my career in Washington, DC at a boutique consulting firm, moved into internal audit roles at various clients I had previously served, and then ended up relocating to South Florida when my wife was accepted to medical school in the area.
Venugopal Venkitakrishnan(Venu) based in Sydney, Australia.
I've worked for a financial institution specializing in commercial loan underwriting for about 10 years. I was asked to step into a project-focused role in 2012, and decided in 2014 that I wanted to pursue my PMP. This was no small task, as I chose to do most of my studying on my own, which required balancing work, study and my family, including my husband and two busy children.
I currently work as an Electrical Engineer for Areva. My previous experience before my current job was in Electrical Project Management. I received my engineering degree and MBA from Georgia Southern University. I plan on transitioning back into project management on my current job.
I graduated in electrical engineering in 1990 from NWFP University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan. I joined govt. electric utility (WAPDA- Water & Power Development Authority) in 1991 and served in the thermal power generation department of the organisation.During this time, I kept on continuously improving myself and in 2000 moved to Saudi Arabia for better financial prospects.
I am a 30 year old project manager at a small IT company called RRC in Slovenia. I was born in Rijeka, Croatia, and moved to Slovenia to finish the Faculty of Computer and Information Science in Ljubljana. I’ve started to develop my managerial capabilities in student days by the establishment and running of the society for Croatian students in Slovenia. Within my 6 years of work experience, I’ve moved from managing smaller projects to the bigger ones.
I worked in the IT industry for 23 years both in the corporate world and as the founder of an IT consulting firm. I hold numerous technical certifications in addition to earning a MBA from UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Management. The first 3 things that I recommend that other students should look at:
I spent most of my working life acting as a Project Manager. I used to work for big firms that had sort if internal qualification, so the PMP was to really required for the “old” Project Managers inside. Other story I faced when I left to follow a different growth. The PMP certification is highly regarded and required. Besides, it helps the community of the PM, and the spreading of a common language and a common understanding. I warmly recommend to seriously consider getting certified at earliest.
I am a Senior Manager for BESLER Consulting in the healthcare industry primarily working with and assisting hospital healthcare systems and large physician practices with short and long term revenue enhancing projects. I obtained my undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MBA) from Rutgers University. My hobbies include playing, coaching and training youth soccer.
I have a BS, MS and PhD in Aerospace Engineering and began my career with the Air Force Research Lab in 1992 as a DOD civilian. I managed projects in the development of advanced technologies for space vehicle guidance and control for 14 years. After that I left government service and went to work in the private sector.
I am a civil engineering graduate and did my graduation in 1989 from University of Jodhpur, India.
I am a project management professional with nearly 30 years of experience in large project management particularly civil engineering and infrastructure projects. I am a post graduate in structural engineering, a masters in business administration from XLRI and a Fellow of Institution of Engineers India.
I am an IT professional with 10+ years of experience playing various roles in the SDLC process. I finally decided to get my professional certification so I can show myself more than anyone else where I stand in this competitive field and plan my future endeavors accordingly. Clearing PMP gave me the reassurance and the additional clarity I needed to set my future career goals. I plan to actively engage in PMI efforts and keep myself well informed about the best practices of this industry so I deliver as well as mentor and train other candidates.
