I possess a unique blend of process orientation and creativity and am always eager to take on the project that requires multinational, multidisciplinary coordination and is a new frontier in some form or another for everyone involved.  The more impossible it seems, the more attractive it is to me.  Currently, I am managing a project that should eventually put new (green) energy in West Africa that supports rural agricultural processors and overcomes the major challenge to previous solutions.

I am a Consultant - Financial Market and Program Management. I am an Electrical & Electronic Engineer (Bachelor of Science) and also an MBA with major in Finance. I reside in Perth, Australia.

I’ve worked in the telecommunications industry for many years, and recently the energy sector, primarily in customer service.  I have managed many projects over the years, the scope of which ranged from small to medium in size.  Several years ago I completed my Master’s Certificate in Project Management and have aspired since then to earning a PMP certification.

I have been working in IT industry for the last 15yrs and from last 2yrs started as PM.

The first thing that I studied on my journey to become a PMP was Rita's PMP book. It has good day-to-day examples which I can connect and remember. I also read a lot of exercises at the end of each chapter help us understand better any situation.

For the past 10 years I have been a senior project manager and department manager for a company that produces large scale separation equipment (centrifuges, belt presses, thickeners and screens)

.  During my 10th year, I decided to earn the PMP credential and now recommend it for all of my direct reports.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, bible study, travel, hunting, fishing, flying (private pilot), boating and scuba (advanced open water).

What made me consider to have the PMP Certification are my strengths and career path have always centered around owning and delivering software projects. My main motivation was to complement my experience with formal accreditation and show my commitment to Project Management as a profession.

I have been doing professional project work for about 15 years, first as Systems Admin for a hotel development group and more recently on software implementations. It was an easy step for me to add the PMP certifications since I was already knee deep in project work. The PMP was always in the back of my mind to achieve and when my PMP certified friend came down for a visit, I was sold, time to spring into action.

I was sent the link to PMP prepcast and watched a couple of times and then enrolled in a PMP 1 month classroom hosted by our local PMI chapter  last spring which used a study kit called Crosswinds (books, CDs, and flash cards with online tests) and the classroom was too fast paced for me, I did not feel as if it was beneficial to my style of learning.

I'm Brazilian, living abroad nearly 10 years. I work with oil and gas projects (production and drilling facilities).I've been looking into get certified for few yeas and recently my company had a push to get their PMs certified...The most difficult part is to read the PMBOK... very difficult and generic.

I learned about The PM PrepCast because I was referred by a friend of a friend who had a long commute to work like me and decided to sign up and optimise my studies.I think the part missing are examples from other industries. Most of examples and cases are always from IT projects, which is a completely different animal from oil & gas and civil projects.

My wife and I live in Central New Jersey. I have a diversified background that revolves around IT. I’ve been a developer on various platforms, a manager/executive as well as a PM. I’ve worked in a variety of industries supporting most of the standard corporate functions. There seems to be an ongoing need for project managers, so I’ve decided to stay in this discipline.

I’ve reached a point in my career where I need to focus on one direction. Project management lets me apply a wide variety of skills and experience.

My name is Melissa Brown and I have my Bachelor’s in Management Information’s Systems and my Associates in Business Administration.  I‘m employed by Digicon Corporation and currently work as a Network Administrator on a government contract within a division of the Department of Defense (DoD). 

Along with my networking duties, I’ve been working towards becoming a Project Manager for over 7 years.  The Project Manager that overseas my contract has given me numerous opportunities to manage training and monthly reporting for my contract and allowed me to be a “Subject Matter Expert” on new business and a re-compete contract in which we won both of them. 

I am currently working as eCommerce Specialist in a very large electronic distribution company Arrow Electronics Inc., for one of its divisions. This company is the second largest distributor in the world for electronic distributions. My work location is Denver, CO, USA. It was always fascinating for me to explore in depth how project management tools and techniques help me work in multi-million dollar projects. I always want to be organized in whatever work I am engaged in including development through management. Initially, I was working in consulting Service Company and then moved to this current US based distribution company. Definitely, there were a few challenges in switching from seller’s perspective to buyer’s perspective in managing the projects.

I work in the Information Technology industry and primarily from the management of software application development used by the top life sciences companies managing regulatory and compliance driven solutions.  I started my career as a software developer and transitioned to the management track where I was introduced to managing projects.  Previously in the software developer role we all perceived the project manager as that vexatious person continually pulling you into team and status meetings. 

I work as a management consultant in application integration and strategy projects primarily in the financial services, banking and telecom domain.Completing the PMP certification was more organizationally motivated. As I had worked in a PMO role, a PMP was a big help in my current role in the organization.

After being out of the "study mode" for 2 years, it was difficult to hit the books again. Once I got over the mental block of studying "seriously", thats when it all came together. It is more of a mental game, and once I had scheduled the test date, it was easier for me to force myself to actually get down to studying given that I was working full time as well.

I’m from the Philippines and worked in the Middle East and Asia as a Senior Planner/Scheduler for almost 17 years. I was privileged to worked for DOD projects in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as US embassy projects. Currently, i’m running a tiny consulting firm in Manila which support PM and contractors as their strived to achieve a project on time thru hard core planning and scheduling implementation and provide PM and Forensic Delay Claim seminar.

I live in New Jersey, USA and have been working in Information Technology for about twenty years, fifteen of which has been as a project manager.  I currently work in finance but have worked in various industries, including publishing and media.

I decided to get my pmp certification recently due to it becoming more prevalent within in our industry.  Also, the majority of my work colleagues in the PM group had the certification already.
